Eye see what you’re saying.

That’s not a typo first off. But let me explain the most recent situation. I know I haven’t posted a lot recently. Things have been hectic and very stressful. But more recently it has been so stressful it’s having medical side effects. Let me explain.

October 8th was the first incident that started this. I had just gotten back from taking kiddo to the hospital on the 7th because he was a danger to himself. He was taken to a mental hospital. Fast forward to the 8th us being home and I’m trying to wind down from work. As I’m winding down I go completely blind. Not just kinda blind. But just black. At first hubby and I were very stressed because we have no idea what’s going on. We decide to let me sleep on it to see if it would go away. Next morning it did. My eyes were back to operating per normal.

It doesn’t happen again for awhile so we had it written off as an anomaly.

Jump to October 21st. Son is back home now btw. I’m crocheting (like usual) and mid stitch my sight goes out again. This time we go to the ER. They checked my eyesight. Pupils and retinas are fine. Did some blood tests to see how that was looking. Everything checked out fine there. They sent me home and told me to see my regular doc and an ophthalmologist. Basically they think it’s all in my head. We went home and went to bed.

October 22nd. Woke up the next morning….still blind. My eyesight is essentially doing what I call flickers. One minute I’m fine. Next minute nope. Sometimes it only lasts 5 minutes. Sometimes it lasts longer. A lot longer. Hubby and I are now really freaking out. During a time when I did have sight I setup an ophthalmologist appointment for the 24th. I’m now not working. Yay….

October 23rd – nothing new in and out of sight. Still not working.

October 24th – doctor appointment to look at my eyes. Retinal imaging done. My eyes are perfect (doc’s words). We explained the situation. He thinks it’s an ocular migraine being triggered by stress.

October 25 and 26th – no incidences also less stress cause no work scheduled.

October 27th – I try to go back to work and things were going well. I then take a lunch break. During that hour I go blind. I am at this point trying to get someone to come to my office to help me cause I can’t see. Eyesight goes in and out.

October 28th – woke up no sight. Flickers throughout the day. Decent nap. Tested positive for Covid (don’t think it’s related). E-health visit with normal doc. He gave referral for MRI and neurology consult. Also prescribed Paxlovid and Sumatriptan (migraine med). Also got some blue screen readers that my wifey/bestie suggested I get. Hopefully my sight is working well tomorrow because I have a meeting with HR. This was setup because if stress is the catalyst I need to reduce it. Work being where I start. Hopefully they have some sort of suggestion. Fingers crossed.
