Sanguine ivy

The slew of Ivy reigns across the sheets and sunken pillow

while silver needles break and flake upon every thought

Every shake and change of fate comes creaking from the window

Makes the stem bare their teeth again for what was taught

But shading away from any action just lays there in thorns and sorrow

As violet blood soaks any wishes for a chance of future to be wrought

Just letting it self bleed and wilt as it brings the blade to swallow

believing it deserves it when it fails to shroud the weeds in a knot

as leaves get stained purple it’s dreams for petals and a life of yellow

Though the hope for that is pointless when your idle and fraught

all that happens is the anger grows the weeds roots become shallow

Close to bleeding  itself away while believing life is for naught

And now calm is only a dream Destined to never be mellow

It simmers And It  grows more teeth the size of a dreadnaught

For a shroud that could never protect anyone and only burns away

now it can never protect the weeds it loves now a statue of dismay

So it just lays there So idle that it can never control the outflow

Just living the memories of a time not missed and living distraught
