Jordan Valley fun

I’m not gonna be long winded (I hope). Here’s the details of what we did for our brief vacation to Jordan Valley.

Pillars of Rome, Oregon

This place was breathtaking and quite serene. Little to no noise or light pollution. The pillars themselves are gorgeous and interesting to look at. We went there twice. The second time was a bit more eventful and we wound up leaving because the wind and lightning had picked up and I didn’t feel like dying by an act of God.

Silver City, Idaho

So this place is a pain to get to. It’s an old mining town that was never modernized. The road leading to it is a bumpy dirt road that you definitely need 4WD to conquer. That being said the visit was interesting and sometimes funny.

I wasn’t sure what I was in for when we went here but were very glad we did. Some beautiful rock formations jutting out of the various foothills. There is a lake at the bottom people can swim in but we didn’t do that. We headed back and got to see the (many) rock formations. Here’s a few:

That’s all for now. We’ll be back some other time to see if I can’t get those night sky pictures I wanted.
